Beer Batter

1 Cup plus 1 tablespoon of flour
salt if desired
1 tablespoon oil
3/4 cup beer at room temperature
2 tablespoons luke warm water
1 egg separated

Put flour and salt in bowl and add oil, add beer and water. While stirring with a wire whisk beat in egg yolk. Cover with cloth and set in warm location for 2-3 hours. Beat egg white until stiff and fold into batter.
